FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GENEALOGY OF JOHN EATON OF DEDHAM, MASS.,
BEING PUBLISHED AFTER MORE THAN A CENTURY

Available to Members of Eaton Families Association

The Eaton Families Association (EFA) is publishing in its on-line newsletter, The “New” Etonian, the genealogy of one of America’s earliest Eaton patriarchs, John Eaton of Dover, England, who arrived with his family in 1635 and eventually settled in Dedham, Massachusetts, near Boston.

The genealogy was researched and compiled more than 100 years ago by a direct descendant of John Eaton, Prof. Daniel Cady Eaton, but never made widely available outside the family. It is estimated that several thousand Americans can trace their ancestry to John Eaton of Dedham.

The voluminous genealogy, tracking seven generations of Eaton descendants, is being published in 12 monthly issues of the newsletter and will be posted on the EFA’s website in a digital format for the exclusive use of members. Compiled from church, civil and other records dating back to the 1600s, this work should be considered a primary source for any genealogist researching the John of Dedham family.
