EATON DNA PROJECTS OF PERSONAL INTEREST (Optional).

Our first DNA studies will try to identify commanlities between various Eaton lineages, such as the original Eaton lines from England (primarily Cheshire, Shropshire and Kent) during the Great Migration (1620-1642). These include descendant lines of Francis of Mayflower fame; John who settled at Dedham, Mass.; William & Jonas Eaton, both of whom settled at Reading, Mass.; Theophilus Eaton of Connecticut, and another John, who settled at Salisbury and then Haverhill, Mass.

This initial DNA project is not limited, however, to New England descendants. We are very interested in establishing markers for our cousins who might determine further commonalities amongst the Eaton families; for example, the Canadian lines descended from English/Irish patriarchs, as well as those of American origin. Also of great interest are the descending lines of John Eaton of Wales who came to Pennepack, PA with further migrations into NC, whom we believe were originally from the old Eaton family seat in Cheshire and/or Shropshire. Also of particular interest are the descendants of Theophilus Eaton, Jr., who returned to England and finally to Ireland, who would have connections to both Irish and English origins, thus connecting them to the 12th century Shropshire and/or Cheshire Eatons.

If there are specific DNA projects that you would like to put on the table, please let us know in the space below.

We sincerely appreciate your interest and/or participation in this project and will continue to notify you of the project status and findings. The findings of our first DNA samples should be available sometime in November, but submission of samples will be an on-going process as long as we have participants. If a later date is more appropriate or practical for you at this time, if you so advise, I will be happy to continue updates until such time. In the meanwhile, if I can provide further assistance or information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
