The Eaton Families Association (EFA) is a worldwide not-for-profit organization open to any individual interested in the Eaton family and/or its many associated families. Members need not bear the surname Eaton, Eyton, Eton, Etone, Ettune, Heaton, Deaton, Leaton, de Eyton, de Eaton, Van Eaten or any of its other variations. The EFA’s primary goal will be to focus on the related genealogy, history, migrations, documentation, heraldry and all other relevant information associated with its members' common ancestry.

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS:  Anyone who joins the EFA is entitled to all benefits and privileges of membership in an organization dedicated to optimizing the exchange of the most accurate genealogy research and information available, related to the Eaton surname. Upon becoming a member, you are provided with a user I.D. and coded access (password) to the EFA's Members Only proprietary web site features, which include:

  • a searchable database consisting of over 65,000 associated Eaton family names, provided by your fellow members. Some of these names date back to the 11th century. In addition, we continue to update and provide lineage information in the form of descendant registers and family tree information.

  • an archive, where we store published material from census reports, birth/marriage/death records, military records, wills, historical documents and other resources, including old EFA reports and newsletters dating back to the 1880s.

  • access to a chat room, which provides an opportunity for on-site dialogue with other members to exchange information and discuss mutual concerns and interests. All official EFA meetings are held in this chat room.

  • a member address book, common ancestor listing and a newsletter, The "New" Etonian, which is e-mailed monthly to each member and features the newest genealogy and lineage information, research opportunities, genealogy events, research tips, articles, stories and photographs presented by our members and guests, as well as biographies of various Eatons throughout the centuries. All such information and articles are then stored on site.
